Based in Totnes, this not-for-profit community arts venue provides the local community with a multi-functional creative space where both performers and audience members can enjoy a huge range of entertainment, exhibitions and experiences. The Studio Lounge venue has been in Totnes since 2011 but audiences outgrew its premises, so a new venue was found to provide local people, young and old, with a space to enjoy all kinds of events. The centre has also created eleven much needed jobs in the area and provides local and new artists the opportunity to have their work seen by thousands of people.

Doorstuff loves live music and comedy, and we’re delighted now the south west has a top venue for performers we otherwise wouldn’t get to see. Recent triumphs have included the bands Yes Sir Boss, Chesney Hawkes, Fleetwood Back and the LGBT event Totnes Pride After Party. Hit comedians have included Patrick Monahan, Arthur Smith and Zoe Lyons. Upcoming highlighted events include Jake Morley, The Darkside of Pink Floyd tribute band, comedian Dominic Holland, Dele Sosimi’s Afrobeat Orchestra and the UK No. 1 ABBA tribute band & DJ Madame Souza for the monthly Proud2Be event.

South Devon Arts Centre’s patrons are Sir Richard Branson, Jools Holland OBE, Bob Harris OBE (pictured), poet Alice Arnold, Comic Strip film maker Peter Richardson, playwright Peter Arnold and musician Mae Karthauser.
